Selling a Car Consignment sale Selling your car for a fixed commission is the perfect way not to have to deal with people coming to your house. Our philosophy is that the Oldtimer Centre should be able to sell your car for slightly more than you will - hence our margin. We can offer trade ins to clients, finance, extended warranties & a great old fashioned service. This means that our small fee will hopefully have little affect on the final price back in your pocket. We also have a long list of people waiting for second hand cars to come in & yours may be one of them. The procedure is simply we come to you & photograph the car, clean it if required & list it for sale on the internet; you get to choose the web sites you want to use. We upload the photos & write the perfect description to attract the largest audience. You choose whether you would like to keep the car at home or leave it with us. It's a lot better if we have the car in the showroom. When someone wants to view the car we show them at our premises, which therefore might involve us collecting your car for an hour or two. Our comprehensive insurance policy covers us for any damage caused which is highly unlikely. No one drives your car without one of our staff being present & if the car is required to have any mechanical inspection you are informed prior to this occurring. Once the car is purchased the cleared funds are banked into our trust account that is audited annually by our accounting firm. For over 15 years consignment sales have been highly successful. Here is a comment from a family who recently sold 3 vehicles with the Oldtimer Centre
Outright sales Most dealers have enormous margins in their vehicles to cover the costs of having a large showroom or many staff. The Oldtimer Centre is not at this end of the industry. We are a boutique style business offering great service without charging people though the roof for cars. This means that when you want to sell your car to us you can expect a higher purchase price than other dealers or auction houses. A copy of the current registration papers, your driver's license & the car must be provided at the point of sale. You will be issued either with a company cheque from us or a transfer of funds to your nominated bank account. If you choose the latter we will need your - banking details (BSB & Account number)
