Every week we sell cars to people from all around our country & I must say we have the most brilliant trucking companies around. Below outlines just how easy Oldtimer Centre makes purchasing a car via "remote control"

How it works

So you see one of our cars on line & think you'd like to see more photos or a longer video, please feel free to ask. We can email you a further 30 compressed photos very easily to your own email address within about an hour.

The Inspection

Our fully qualified in-house mechanic upon request can complete our pre-printed 109 point check of the car if you like. From seat belts, power steering hoses, sun roof, rust spots, interior defects all the way to dirty fuel & fouled up spark plugs. The NRMA don't actually offer reports any more as too many cars were coming back on them.

Transport Expenses

There are a few great companies who truck cars around all day, every day. They are 100% insured & know what they are doing when it comes to looking after your new asset.

SMB Car Express stands for Sydney - Melbourne - Brisbane Car Express at the following locations & can send a car from DEPOT TO DEPOT from about $325.00 which is cheaper than flights & petrol in your new car. Not to mention the loads of klms you would be putting on the new car. You might notice from the photo below that they have been doing this for quite some time!

For SOUTH AUSTRALIA and WESTERN AUSTRALIA we use a company called CEVA Logistics who have a unique vehicle tracking section on their web site which is brilliant. Obviously these distances are more expensive but still very reasonable. Sydney to Adelaide is around $850.00 & to Perth it's $1325.00. The Warranty

A lot of people think the only way you can get any sort of warranty is if you live in the state where the car is sold - well you're wrong. As long as you suggest a good, honest mechanic within the first 3 months of purchasing your new car we will speak to them, pay the bill & not give you any troubles; we do this a lot & everyone seems to be very happy with the result. Also the EXTENDED WARRANTY company we deal with is AUSTRALIA WIDE.

Please ask us about the costs of one of the 1, 3 or 5 year warranty programs either through our enquiry form or just email me

Transfer Fees

If you do not have a NSW address & you plan on taking your car back to the state you live in "you do NOT pay stamp duty or the transfer fees in NSW". You are only required to pay them in the state you live in.

The rules are that either the number plates are removed prior to us sending the car to you or you have a couple of weeks to remove the plates, get yourself a roadworthy check & off to the department of roads for a fresh new year's rego. In some states you can use our NSW roadworthy check sometimes known as a pink slip so you don't have to run around getting your own. In NSW we can also issue what is called a UVP - Unregistered Vehicle Permit which allows you to drive directly to your destination without rego. They cost next to nothing & include a CTP Green Slip for damage to the public & property; you can have these for up to about 2 weeks of travel. In the event that the number plates are removed by Oldtimer Centre we are not required to provide a NSW roadworthy certificate unless you specifically ask for one. The reason being that you are going to get one in your own state where required.
